The Total Control BASEBALL Batting Ball helps baseball hitters develop strength and extension through the hitting zone. These balls are slightly smaller than than the TCB ORIGINAL Weighted Balls that are popular for fastpitch softball. At 2.9 inches in diameter (exact baseball size) and a weight of 15 oz, the design gives optimum resistance to the muscles used when hitting.
The TCB ball provides instant feedback to the hitter upon contact. Hit it square or on the center line of the ball, and the shape remains round. If hit off center, the ball changes to a donut shape - spinning up or down depending on location of the contact of the ball. These training balls are used primarily for front and side toss. Start out slowly with 3 to 6 solid hits and increase to a maximum of 18 to 24 in one hitting session.

Awesome product for training in tight areas/no cages. Also good for daily training for instant feedback for "centering" the ball up, power swings and more. Plus, the kids love them, they are just FUN to hit. (Posted on 4/15/2015)
Nice product for pregame batting practice when live BP isn't allowed. Heavy balls force kids to swing through heavy resistance to hit it good which hopefully transcends into their live at bats with harder hit balls. (Posted on 12/10/2013)
I love these weighted balls. I used an oversize 17oz ball that was about the size of a cantaloupe, and it helped my son develop a powerful swing through the ball, but it didn't do anything to help him zero in on a baseball-sized ball. This solves both problems.
Kids have a tendency (at least the 10 y/o and under set that I've coached) to slow down their bats when they feel contact. These balls really help them get over that hump and understand that you have to power through -- accelerate through -- the ball at contact. The job's not done at contact. These balls get them there.
Best of all: these are FUN for the kids. They all beg to take swings with the "yellow balls." They may be pricey, but finding something that works AND that is fun for the kids makes it worth the price, IMO. I dropped one star because they're pricey. If money's no object for you, then these are a 5-star hitting aid. (Posted on 12/10/2013)
